ABOUT PASTURE PRODUCTIONS

DIRECTOR/CO-WRITER: George Woodard is a Vermont Dairy Farmer with a SAG card. George spent several years in Los Angeles honing his acting skills on stage and film until he decided to return to Vermont to operate his family's farm. He realized that he could create theater events in Vermont just as effectively as in California. During this period, he created the Woodchuck Theatre Company (WTC), which featured numerous regional productions. "Pasture Productions" is the independent film part of WTC.

His film roles have been featured in "Timechasers", an Edgewood Studios/David Giancola film; Edith Wharton's novella "Ethan Frome" with Liam Neeson, Joan Allen and Patricia Arquette (Miramax Films), Anthony Hall's "Mud Season," and Nora Jacobson's "My Mothers Early Lovers" and "Nothing Like Dreaming." Television and video credits include "Rescue 911," and "Unsolved Mysteries." He, his son Henry and his family's farm were featured in "America’s Heart and Soul" (Buena Vista). "The Summer of Walter Hacks" was gleaned from his thirty-plus years of farming, theater and film experience. His most recent film The Farm Boy, was released to critical acclaim and showcased throughout Vermont beginning in the spring of 2023.

PRODUCER/CO-WRITER: Gerianne Smart is the manager of marketing and public relations at Rutland Regional Medical Center in Rutland, VT. For 15 years she operated her own advertising agency, Smart Communication, Inc. Gerianne is a graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and, while in NYC, performed in many productions off-off (off!) Broadway as well as bit parts in industrial films, print advertising and voice overs. She moved to Vermont in 1991 and sought ways to begin acting again. In the process, she discovered an effort to restore the historic Opera House in Vergennes, Vermont and became actively involved as the organization’s president. The once closed (for 24 years) theater space is rully restored and managed by a dedicated team of volunteers. The Vergennes Opera House was a catalyst for the revitalized, vibrant, and active downtown in Vergennes.
